A resource for avoiding plagiarism and using APA style
The Franklin Style Manual provides guidance on the formal aspects of writing research papers, including documentation and formatting. These guidelines are based on the recommendations for academic writing presented in the Publication Manual for the American Psychological Association (6th ed.; 2010), whose guidelines have been modified slightly to better accommodate student writing in college courses (rather than for publication). Students and faculty are encouraged to use the FSM as a reference while completing coursework. While the PDF version linked below contains a complete version of the FSM, this site also provides an online version with more extensive instruction and examples.
